CELEBRATING ASTRUD GILBERTO’S BIRTHDAY ALL WEEKEND
Happy Birthday to Astrud Gilberto, one of Brazil’s most famous and beloved singers! She turns 73 today, and we’re celebrating her birthday all weekend on the Bossa Nova Breakfast. We’ll be featuring music from Getz/Gilberto, the album that made her a worldwide sensation with the release of “The Girl from Ipanema”, as well as the classic version of “Corcovado.” There will also be hits from her solo recording career including “Agua de Beber”, “Tristeza”, “Bim Bom”, “So Nice” with Walter Wanderley, and “Ponteio” with Stanley Turrentine.
